Black Magic Slots
Black Magic is a 5-reel, 25-payline slot that revolves around a witch and supernatural forces. You'll see all of the typical things associated with witches, including bats, spiders, magical potions, skulls, and snakes.
This game features a spooky theme that's especially fun around Halloween time. But is Black Magic worth playing throughout the year? Find out as we review this game's atmosphere, animations, features, betting options, and return to player (RTP).
Conjure Up Spells to Deliver Big Wins
Black Magic features a dark, starry background with bats flying around at the top. You'll also see a witch on one side of the reels and a skull on the other. The background graphics are average at best, but we commend WGS for putting plenty of detail in the atmosphere.
Symbols include a witch (wild), moon (scatter), sacrificial dagger, skull, white owl, snake, spiderweb, candle, potion, bat, and tombstone.
The witch, who's a pretty goth woman, rather than warty and green, substitutes for every icon except the moon scatter to form payouts. She's also the highest-paying symbol, offering 6,000 coins for five icons.
One more good thing about the witch is that she offers a cool animation, where she lets out a screeching laugh and forms a green magic bolt in her hands.
Black Magic Slots Special Features - Trigger the Black Magic Bonus
You'll get the Black Magic Bonus whenever you land three or more moon scatters anywhere on the reels. This brings up 6 crystals, which you select to reveal prizes. All of the prizes are multiplied by your total triggering bet.
Black Magic allows you to change paylines from 1-25 and coin size from $0.01 to $5.00. This makes for a minimum bet of $0.01 per spin and a max of $125.00.
Other options include autoplay and the ability to turn sound on/off. Autoplay lets you keep the reels spinning automatically with your betting preferences. We don't really see a need to turn sound off, because this game only includes a few sound effects and no music.
Black Magic RTP
RTP for Black Magic is 93.88%, which is low for an online slot. Most internet slots offer between 94% and 97% payback. Therefore, your long-term chances of winning with Black Magic aren't great in comparison to other games.
Black Magic is a Decent Spooky Slot
Black Magic rates on average or above average in many areas, including the atmosphere, background, graphics, symbols, and features. We've seen better graphics and symbols in similar online slots. But WGS did do a good job of adding little details and to the background and symbols.
The only feature is the Black Magic Bonus, which sees you choose crystals to reveal prizes. While we like that this game has at least one feature, it would be nice to see free spins and maybe some scatter payouts too.
The only real downside to Black Magic is the RTP, which is just 93.88%. While not the worst payback we've seen, it's definitely not the best either.
In summary, we think that Black Magic slots has interesting symbols and a good enough background to make it worth playing around Halloween. But it doesn't have enough features or the RTP to be worth playing year round.
